Tony Stewart to spend holidays racing sprint cars in Australia

<p>Tony Stewart will be spending his holiday season Down Under, as the NASCAR star will be joining other top American sprint car drivers in part in four of the biggest sprint car races in Australia. The Parramatta City Raceway Web site reports that Stewart will be competing in the $50,000-to-win Scott Darley race on January 2 and 3, along with the Australian Sprintcar Grand Prix on December 26 and the Parramatta Sprintcar International on December 29.

</p><p>Stewart will race for Australian sprint car legend Garry Rush, who is also one of the promoters at Parramatta City Raceway. In Australia, Stewart will be joined by a host of top American sprint car drivers such as his Tony Stewart Racing driver, World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz along with current All-Stars champion Tim Shaffer.

</p><p>“After starting his own NASCAR team at the beginning of the year Tony has had a very long year and his main focus is to come to Australia to unwind while enjoying some time away from the pressure of racing at the top level,” said Rush.

</p><p>“However, he is a true racer at heart and has jumped at the opportunity we have provided him to race at Tyrepower Parramatta Raceway while combining it with some holiday activities both around Sydney and other parts of Australia.”</p>
